Polyethylene (PE) is the best known volume plastic. PE Is a thermoplastic, meaning it can be moulded during the molten phase of the resin and can therefore be extruded or moulded into a variety of shapes.
PE materials have been progressively used in the pipeline industry in ever increasing diameters and pressure ratings since their commercial introduction by ICI in in the late 1930’s.
Extrusion of PE Pipes commenced in Europa in the mid 1950’s and smack diameter pipes were used for industrial and agricultural applications to take advantage of the flexibility and corrosion resistance offered by PE.
Large diameter PE Pipes have now become accepted and preferred solutions in many of these applications where the unique properties of PE provide a more cost effective system.
PT. Jahaplast Sejahtera Teknik manufactures and fabricators services in PE fittings solution and piping system.

Application

ADVANTAGES OF PE100 MATERIAL

PE Pipe are intended for conveyance of fluids under pressure. These include water or water transporting solids such as effluents and slurries. PE Pipe have a successful history of use in applications such as:
· Water distribution for town, rural and irrigation purposes.
· House water services, especially mains to meter.
· Sewer rising mains
· Submarine pipelines for ocean ouffalls, estuary and river crossings
· Above ground temporary and unrestrained pipelines
· Above ground fixed, le restrained pipe system
· Portable pipes
· Liner pipes for pipeline renovation
· Sleeve pipes for corrosion or mechanical protection
· Chemical process pipework
· Dredge discharge conveyance
· Mine tailings disposal pipelines
· Boiler feed and other demineralised water supplies
· Cable and telecommunications ducting
· Trenchiess installations including directional boring

PE has many advantages over alternatives such as metal and rigid pipe materials, the more obvious ones being :

LONG LIFE
PE Pipes are inert and hence, non-aging when operated within their design criteria. PE Pipes have been installed for many years and have a minimum life expectancy of 50 years when used in accordance with the relevant Standards.

IMPACT STRENGTH
PE has excellent impact resistance which unlike many other polymers is retained at sub-zero temperatures.

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
PE is unaffected by both internal and external chemical attack by a wide range of acids, alkalis, ground water salts and other environmental factors.

BRATION RESISTANCE
PE offer good resistance to abrasion and erosion from aggressive slurries which can rapidly damage steel or other traditional pipe materials.

WEATHER RESISTANCE
All HDPE systems contain antioxidants, stabilizers and pigments to provide stability from ultraviolet radiation.

ENVIRONMENTALLY COMPATIBLE
PE is an environmentally compatible hydrocarbon
NON TOX.. / TAINT FI5EE The formulation of HDPE contains no harmful metallic stabilizers, and it has been widely used for many years in piping systems for high water purity, medical preparation, food products and soft drinks.

EXCEPTIONALLY SMOOTH BORE
PE does not suffer from increased surface roughness or internal corrosion also causes a
reduced bore in steel systems which further inhibits flow.
The smooth bore also inhibits the formation of scale

FLEXIBILITY
In Contrast to traditional piping materials. PE pipes are relatively flexible. This inherent flexibility can be used to time and labour saving advantage in handling and installation, particularly in designing underground piping layouts. Importantly also, PE pipes are not susceptible to shear breaks that can occur in rigid conduits such as cast iron and uPVC.

LONG PIPE LENGHTS
Depending on the size of the pipe diameter, PE pipes can be supplied in long coil lengths, this means fewer pipe joins.
SIZE AND PRESSURE RANGE
PE FITTINGS are manufactured in sizes ranging from 20mm to 1000mm. Standard pres-sure ratings start at 400KPa and go to 3000KPa ( Class 4 to 30). These ratings are at 20°C
TEMPERATURE RANK:
A range advantage of PE over other plastic system is its ability to perform over a wide range of temperature range from -30N to 60 N. This makes PE very versatile, capable of handling a wider range of fluids from refrigerants to moderately hot corrosive liquids.
LIGHTWEIGHT
Generally one-sixth the weight of steel systems, PE is easy to handle and install. This reduce the cost of installation because of reduced handling times, crane age and transport.
JOINTING FLEXIBILITY
There are six main jointing methods for PE Pipe as follows:
– Permanent Joints: Butt Welding
– Socket Welding
– Electrofusion
– Dismountable Joints: Victaulic Coupling
– Stub Flanges

We also produce the different kinds of PE fittings :
